MOI looks to AI to enhance identity verification and forensic evidence
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef reviewed the latest development plans and artificial intelligence applications at the General Department of Criminal Evidence during an inspection visit on Tuesday.
Sheikh Al-Yousef visited the General Department of Criminal Evidence to review its workflow, performance levels and the latest technical and technological developments.
He was received by Head of the Criminal Security Affairs Sector Brigadier General Fahad Mohammed Al-Badr, Director General of the General Department of Criminal Evidence Brigadier General Abdulrahim Mohammed Al-Awadhi, his assistant Brigadier General Mishari Bader Al-Rish, and several department directors and their assistants.
During the visit, the minister listened to a briefing on the department’s plans and aspirations for continued development and improvement. He also viewed a presentation on the role of artificial intelligence in criminal work, including its applications in identity verification and forgery detection.
Sheikh Al-Yousef then toured several departments and laboratories, where he reviewed the nature of their work, procedures and the technical and specialized services they provide.
At the conclusion of the visit, he issued a number of directives to support the development process and improve performance to enhance efficiency and the accuracy of results and support the security system.
