Kuwait, UN move to deepen cooperation in global fight against terrorism

Kuwait has reaffirmed its commitment to international efforts to combat terrorism and extremism during talks between Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organizations Ambassador Sadiq Marafi and Alexander Zuev, Acting Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations for Counter-Terrorism.
The meeting took place Wednesday evening in New York on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. The discussions focused on cooperation between Kuwait and the United Nations in the field of counter-terrorism and ways to further strengthen coordination between the two sides.
Marafi and Zuev also exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest, reflecting the importance of maintaining dialogue and coordination on international security matters. Both sides underscored the need for continued cooperation within the framework of the United Nations and support for international initiatives aimed at combating terrorism and extremism.
