Kuwait Municipality continues to supervise demolition of 42 dilapidated buildings in Jleeb

The Farwaniya Governorate Municipality has overseen the demolition of 42 dilapidated properties in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh as part of ongoing efforts to remove unsafe structures and enhance public safety.

The safety management team, under the supervision of Engineer Mubarak Al-Watari, monitored the work of the demolition contractor to ensure procedures were carried out according to approved safety standards.

According to the Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality, all necessary measures were implemented prior to demolition, including evacuation of residents, cutting off electricity supplies, and fencing off the buildings to prevent access and ensure public safety, reports Al-Rai daily.

Out of the 42 targeted properties, 15 were demolished directly by the municipality, while five were removed by their owners. The remaining 22 buildings were demolished within the scheduled timeframe by the designated safety teams.

The municipality said field teams and relevant departments in Farwaniya carried out prior procedures such as issuing violation notices, placing evacuation warnings, and disconnecting utilities to prepare the buildings for demolition.

Officials confirmed that the operation is part of broader efforts to address unsafe and abandoned structures across the governorate to improve safety conditions in residential areas.
