. . . reaffirms solidarity with Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the attack launched by the Houthi militia against King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, which resulted in deaths and injuries among civilians, including travellers and airport staff of Saudi and other nationalities, and led to the temporary suspension of airport operations.
The ministry said the attack constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law. It warned that repeated hostile acts targeting civilian objects and vital facilities represent a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to the safety of civilians and air navigation, stressing the need to hold those responsible accountable.
Kuwait reiterated its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its security and stability and protect citizens and residents. The ministry stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security is an integral part of the security of Kuwait and other Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The ministry also expressed Kuwait’s sincere condolences to Saudi Arabia’s leadership, government and people, as well as to the governments and peoples of the countries whose nationals were among the victims and to their families. It wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Kuwait called on the international community to fulfil its responsibilities and adopt a firm stance against repeated attacks, stressing the need to protect civilian objects and civil aviation facilities, prevent similar incidents and ensure that those responsible do not escape punishment.
