Four Africans arrested within 24 hours after stealing 50,000 dinars from car

Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested four African expatriates suspected of stealing 50,000 dinars from a Chinese contracting company manager’s vehicle in Salmiya, solving the case within 24 hours of receiving the report.

According to a security source quoted, the suspects allegedly tracked the manager after he withdrew the cash from a bank to pay his company’s employees’ salaries. They reportedly took advantage of his visit to a friend’s apartment in Salmiya, smashed the vehicle’s front right-side window and escaped with the money, reports Al-Anba daily.

The victim discovered the theft when he returned to his vehicle, which had been parked in Block 1 from around 11pm until 2:30am. Investigators reviewed surveillance camera footage, identified a vehicle suspected of involvement and arrested one suspect, who allegedly confessed and provided information that led to the arrest of three accomplices.

The suspects have been referred for legal proceedings. Police urged the public to report such incidents promptly and avoid leaving large sums of cash inside vehicles, particularly in public areas and residential parking lots.
