Sahel App streamlines process for summoning teachers over parental complaints

Initiative reflects the commitment of the relevant authorities to create an educational environment that protects the rights of everyone involved

The Ministries of Education and Interior have agreed to implement a new mechanism for summoning faculty members and education workers to investigate complaints filed by parents, using the “Sahel” App.

Al-Rai has learned that this initiative aims to enhance the status of educators and ensure the confidentiality of the complaints process.

According to informed sources, the new system is designed to expedite the handling of complaints. Recent data has shown an increase in parental complaints related to children’s rights against education professionals, making it essential to address these issues with greater flexibility and confidentiality.

Under the current system, complaints are first communicated to the educational district, which then coordinates with the Ministry of Education’s legal affairs department to refer the individuals involved to the Community Police Department for hearings. For private schools, the Private Education Department follows established procedures.

The sources pointed out that the current process for summoning teachers takes approximately two weeks, which delays the handling of complaints. The introduction of the “Sahel” app is seen as an effective solution to speed up summons, ensure confidentiality, and provide a platform for amicable resolutions between all parties involved.

This initiative reflects the commitment of the relevant authorities to create an educational environment that protects the rights of everyone involved, ensures the integrity of the educational process, and maintains the confidentiality of complaint proceedings.
