In a bid to strengthen cultural ties and promote Peru as a premier travel destination, the Embassy of the Republic of Peru in Kuwait hosted a special tourism promotional event. The gathering, held at the embassy, was attended by representatives from Kuwaiti media outlets and leading travel agencies.
During the event, Peruvian Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Carlos Enrique Tomas Martin Jiménez, highlighted the longstanding and evolving relationship between Kuwait and Peru, describing it as historic and multifaceted. He noted that this tourism initiative is part of broader efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation.
Pedro Javier Sedano, Consul at the Peruvian Embassy, emphasized the simplicity of the visa process, stating that a Peruvian tourist visa can be issued within just three working days. He also revealed that a draft agreement to exempt Kuwaiti citizens from visa requirements has been proposed and is currently being reviewed by the relevant Kuwaiti authorities. The embassy’s consular section currently issues around 250 visas annually.
“We warmly welcome all Kuwaitis and are committed to offering them every possible convenience,” he added, “so they can enjoy an unforgettable journey through Peru—from the towering Andes Mountains to the enchanting beaches of the Pacific Ocean.”
The event featured a live video presentation from Peruvian and Dubai-based tourism officials, showcasing vibrant promotional videos of Peru’s top landmarks. The presentation included a variety of activities such as visits to historical sites, mountain climbing, surfing, safari tours, and deep dives into the ancient Peruvian civilization that dates back thousands of years.
Ambassador Jiménez also announced the upcoming launch of direct flights from Dubai to Peru, which will significantly ease travel for those seeking a unique adventure amid Peru’s unspoiled nature and rich cultural heritage.
