UAE Vice-President’s visit marks a key milestone in UAE-Kuwait relations

Emirati companies’ investments reflect investors’ confidence in Kuwait’s attractive investment environment; non-oil trade between the UAE and Kuwait reached approximately 1.117 billion dinars in Q1 2025

UAE Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Dr. Mattar Al-Niyadi, speaking of the recent visit by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, to Kuwait earlier this June, termed the visit ‘very significant’, describing it as an important milestone in the trajectory of bilateral relations, which contributed to strengthening and elevating cooperation and integration between the two countries.

During the visit, Dr Al-Niyadi said, a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed across multiple sectors, including health, education, oil and gas, legal affairs, social affairs and development, diplomacy, land transport and road infrastructure, advanced industry and technology, electricity, water and future energy, combating human trafficking, data and information protection in security projects, and encouragement of direct investment.

Speaking at a forum yesterday morning that was attended by top representatives of Emirati companies investing in Kuwait, Ambassador Dr. Al-Niyadi said the event aimed to enhance direct communication and explore ways to support economic partnership between the two brotherly nations.

He added, “The Emirati company investments play a vital role in advancing economic cooperation and reflect the confidence of Emirati investors in Kuwait’s attractive investment environment, supported by its infrastructure and developmental projects.”

Dr. Al-Niyadi pointed out that Q1 2025 data showed that the non-oil trade volume between the UAE and Kuwait reached approximately 13.4 billion dirhams (equivalent to 1.117 billion Kuwaiti dinars), marking a 9% increase compared to the same period in 2024, reflecting the deepening and growing economic ties between the two countries.

The ambassador reaffirmed the embassy’s commitment to supporting all Emirati investment initiatives and projects in Kuwait, stating, “We reiterate that we are always partners and supporters of every Emirati investment initiative or project in our brotherly state of Kuwait. We dedicate all our capabilities to serve our national companies, whether in coordination, follow-up, or facilitating communication with the relevant authorities.”

He went on to say, “We also keep the door wide open for your ideas and suggestions, trusting that your vision will contribute to improving the investment climate and advancing cooperation relations to new levels of integration.”

Dr. Al-Niyadi concluded his speech by announcing that the UAE Embassy is preparing to celebrate the 54th National Day of the United Arab Emirates, appreciating the contribution of Emirati companies investing in Kuwait in supporting and sponsoring this national occasion, which provides an opportunity to express pride in the national identity and reflects the UAE’s civilized image and institutions abroad.

Dr. Al-Niyadi also announced preparations for the second edition of the “Exhibition and Forum of Emirati Companies in Kuwait: Exploring Opportunities in the Kuwaiti Market” scheduled for April 2026, following the great success of the first edition, which saw important agreements signed and helped expand the presence of Emirati companies in the Kuwaiti market.
