Prime Minister chairs meeting on major development projects, stresses precautionary measures
Calls for realistic vision and well-planned strategies in dealing with evolving situation

His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah chaired, on Thursday, a meeting of Ministerial Committee No. (48) to follow up on the implementation of major development projects in the country.
During the meeting, His Highness emphasized the importance of continued coordination among all state entities to ensure the implementation of pre-approved plans and objectives, and to complete strategic development projects according to specified timelines and national priorities.
He also stressed the need to take all precautionary measures in addressing current challenges through a realistic vision and well-thought-out plans, while maintaining a balance between preserving essential services and continuing the execution of key development projects.
His Highness praised the support and patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, highlighting the leadership’s commitment to advancing development efforts and ensuring their timely completion.
Ambassador Sameeh Jawhar Hayat, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs and rapporteur of the committee, said the meeting reviewed a number of technical reports and topics aimed at advancing joint economic and investment cooperation with several countries through the implementation of major projects in Kuwait.
He noted that discussions with international companies are ongoing without interruption, despite the exceptional circumstances in the region, and are focused on enhancing cooperation, coordination, and removing obstacles to facilitate investment flows.
The discussions also covered cooperation in several key sectors, including the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project, electricity systems and renewable energy development, low-carbon waste recycling initiatives, housing development, environmental infrastructure for wastewater treatment, as well as afforestation and environmental projects.
In addition, the meeting reviewed progress on major infrastructure initiatives, including the new Kuwait International Airport project, the railway linkage with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and GCC countries, and the development of workers’ cities.
The meeting was attended by several ministers and senior officials, including Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Mohammed Al-Mashaan, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Housing Affairs Abdul Latif Hamed Al-Mashari, Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizeem, Minister of State for Development and Sustainability Dr. Reem Ghazi Al-Faleej, Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment Abdulaziz Nasser Al-Marzouq, Minister of Finance Dr. Yaqoub Al-Sayed Yousef Al-Rifai, along with other senior officials.
