Palestinian cause remains a Gulf priority with Kuwait at the forefront

His Excellency Rami Tahboub, the Palestinian Ambassador to the country, hailed Kuwait as one of the staunchest supporters of Palestine and its people, underscoring the unwavering trust placed in Kuwait’s steadfast commitment.

His Excellency Rami Tahboub, the Palestinian Ambassador to Kuwait, emphasized Gulf leaderssupport for Palestine, highlighting Saudi Arabias leadership in advancing the two-state solution through ongoing high-level communication.

Ambassador Rami Tahboub said, “We hope the incoming U.S. administration recognizes the importance of granting Palestinians their rights, including an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, as the Palestinian cause is key to regional peace.”

 

His Excellency Rami Tahboub, the Palestinian Ambassador to the country, hailed Kuwait as one of the staunchest supporters of Palestine and its people. He highlighted that successive Gulf summits consistently prioritize the Palestinian cause, underscoring the unwavering trust placed in Kuwait’s steadfast commitment. His remarks were reported by Al Qabasnewspaper.

During the opening of the “Threads of Resilience” exhibition, organized by the Palestinian Embassy at the headquarters of the Women’s Cultural Association, Ambassador Rami Tahboub stated that “All Gulf leaders support the Palestinian cause in every way, particularly Saudi Arabia, which is currently leading an alliance advocating for the two-state solution. This is reassuring for us. Communication between the Palestinian President and His Highness, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, continues at all levels to enable Saudi Arabia to work toward the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state.”

Ceasefire in Lebanon and its implications

On the ceasefire in Lebanon and its implications for Gaza, Ambassador Tahboub commented that “We welcome the implementation of the ceasefire in Lebanon yesterday morning, as we have consistently called for an end to aggression and genocide in Gaza and across Palestine. We are relieved to see an end to Lebanese bloodshed and hope this is a precursor to halting the war waged by the Israeli occupation in Palestine.”

Resolving the Palestinian cause is the key to regional peace and stability

Addressing remarks by the newly appointed U.S. National Security Adviser under President-elect Donald Trump, who emphasized the need to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East, Tahboub said that “There was a recent call between President Mahmoud Abbas and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. While we refrain from pre-judging the actions of the incoming U.S. administration, we hope for a heightened awareness of the importance of granting the Palestinian people their legitimate rights, including the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. Everyone understands that the key to war and peace in the region lies in resolving the Palestinian cause.”

Speaking about the event, the ambassador said that “The exhibition is held annually in Kuwait with the goal of preserving Palestinian national identity and heritage, as Palestinian heritage is an integral part of our identity.”

“Threads of Resilience” exhibition is a significant cultural event, says US ambassador

H. E. Karen Sasahara, the U.S. Ambassador to Kuwait, remarked that “It is important to participate in this meaningful cultural exhibition, especially at a time when the region faces significant challenges. This exhibition brings back beautiful memories of my experiences in Jerusalem and Jordan, showcasing the richness of Palestinian heritage and culture in its present and future.”

She added, “We look forward to the next exhibition scheduled for spring.”

Kuwaits support for Palestine praised

The Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Ambassador Riad Mansour, lauded Kuwait’s exceptional role in supporting the Palestinian cause and its steadfast stance alongside the Palestinian people. He expressed deep appreciation for Kuwait’s continuous efforts to end the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Ambassador Mansour made these remarks in a special statement to KUNA, following the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People commemorating the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People at the UN headquarters.
