State Security Court jails Al-Dabbous for six months
. . . over social media remarks, acquits others in separate cases

The State Security Circuit of the Court of Appeal has sentenced Fadel Al-Dabbous to six months in prison with hard labor for insulting the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior through comments posted on social media platforms.
In a separate ruling during the same session, the court acquitted a Twitter user who had been accused of spreading false news and insulting Egypt, overturning a previous three-year prison sentence issued against the accused.
The court also upheld the acquittal of Fahd Al-Shalimi in a case related to allegations of insulting Yemen in a circulated video clip.
The rulings come as part of a series of state security and cyber-related cases being reviewed by Kuwaiti courts concerning online speech, public commentary, and social media activity.
