Kuwait expands use of electronic signature for digital services

The Ministry of Justice and the Public Authority for Civil Information have urged citizens and residents to activate their approved electronic signatures to benefit from a wider range of government and banking services.

The electronic signature enables users to authenticate transactions and documents digitally through electronic devices without the need for paper-based procedures or personal visits, while maintaining legal validity under Kuwait’s applicable laws.

The service will gradually support several digital transactions, including electronic notarization, issuing and cancelling powers of attorney, company and institution registration, commercial licensing procedures, and selected banking agreements.

Citizens can activate their electronic signatures through the “My Identity” application or self-service kiosks, while residents can complete activation through designated kiosks available at various locations across Kuwait.

The two authorities encouraged everyone to activate the service to ensure convenient, secure and faster access to current and future digital government and financial services.
