12 fugitives, 2 illegal taxi operators in police custody

Personnel from the General Traffic Department have arrested two Asians for running illegal taxi services by transporting passengers in private vehicles in return for money, in violation of Kuwait’s traffic rules and regulations.

Their vehicles have been impounded, and both men have been were referred to the Traffic Detention Center pending further legal procedures.

The Ministry reiterated that unauthorized passenger transport is considered a serious traffic offence and warned that inspection campaigns will continue to curb such illegal activities and ensure compliance with the law.

In the meantime, the Interior Ministry men during the security and traffic crackdown across all governorates have arrested 12 wanted individuals of different nationalities.

The General Traffic Department said the individuals were wanted in connection with various criminal and legal cases, including violations of residency and labor laws.

Security officials stressed that the campaigns form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public security, enforce the law, and track down individuals sought by the authorities.
