Kuwait moves to strengthen security system with new senior appointments
Major-General Al-Munaifi and Major-General Al-Roumi appointed to key MOI positions

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah has issued two ministerial decrees appointing Major General Hamad Al-Munaifi as Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs and Major General Fawaz Al-Roumi as Assistant Undersecretary for Supporting Security Services.
The Ministry of Interior said the appointments follow the Amiri decrees issued on Sunday. Sheikh Fahad also conferred the rank of Major General on Al-Roumi during a ceremony attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wahib, and several senior security officials.
Congratulating the newly appointed assistant undersecretaries, Sheikh Fahad said the appointments reflect the confidence of the political leadership in national competencies and reaffirm the ministry’s commitment to recognizing capable leaders and strengthening the country’s security institutions.
He urged all members of the security establishment to continue demonstrating professionalism, dedication and excellence in carrying out their responsibilities, noting that fostering a culture of achievement is essential to developing future security leaders capable of meeting national challenges.
The minister stressed the need for stronger coordination and teamwork across all sectors of the Ministry of Interior to enhance institutional performance, improve operational efficiency and support Kuwait’s security and stability.
He also highlighted the importance of investing in human resources, encouraging innovation, keeping pace with evolving security challenges and implementing the ministry’s strategy to further strengthen the readiness and effectiveness of the country’s security system.
