Court of Cassation upholds 5-year sentence in Amir insult case

The Court of Cassation, headed by Counselor Saleh Al-Murshid, has upheld a five-year prison sentence with hard labor against a Gulf citizen convicted of publicly insulting the Amir of Kuwait.
The ruling confirms the earlier judgment issued in the case, which involved charges related to offending the country’s highest constitutional authority.
The court’s decision brings the legal proceedings to a close, reaffirming the lower court’s findings and the penalties imposed in accordance with Kuwaiti law governing crimes related to insulting the Amir.
