The Kuwait Meteorological Department has forecast active winds and dusty conditions across the country over the weekend, with reduced horizontal visibility expected in several areas, particularly in open areas.
Acting Director of the Meteorological Department, Darrar Al-Ali, said Kuwait will be affected by an extension of a low-pressure system accompanied by a relatively hot air mass and shifting winds that are expected to stir dust across the country.
Speaking to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Ali explained that southeasterly winds will initially be light to moderate before gradually turning northwesterly and becoming active at times, causing blowing dust and lower visibility levels.
He noted that Friday’s weather is expected to remain hot during the daytime, with northwesterly winds ranging between 10 and 40 kilometers per hour and a possibility of dust in open areas.
Temperatures are forecast to range between 35°C and 37°C during the day, while nighttime conditions will be warm to moderate, with minimum temperatures between 23°C and 25°C.
Sea conditions are expected to remain light to moderate, with waves reaching between two and six feet.
For Saturday, Al-Ali said the weather will continue to be hot, accompanied by light to moderate northwesterly winds occasionally becoming active at speeds between 12 and 40 kilometers per hour.
Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 37°C and 39°C, while minimum temperatures will range between 25°C and 27°C.
