Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, the Minister of Health, said the new nutrition units across all districts reflect the ministry’s commitment to quality healthcare, chronic disease prevention, and promoting healthy eating for a more informed and healthier society.

The new therapeutic nutrition units across all districts will help promote healthy nutritional behaviors and raise community awareness about proper nutrition—aligning with the Ministry of Health’s vision of a sustainable, healthy future.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, the Minister of Health, has issued a ministerial decision to establish therapeutic nutrition units in all health districts, as part of the ministry’s efforts to strengthen prevention and enhance integrated healthcare for citizens and residents, according to Arabic daily Al Jarida.

The ministry stated that the move reflects its commitment to making therapeutic nutrition a core component of its prevention and treatment strategy, particularly within primary healthcare programs, which serve as the first line of defense against many chronic diseases linked to diet and lifestyle.

The ministry stated that these units will provide direct technical supervision of therapeutic nutrition clinics affiliated with primary healthcare centers, in coordination with the Nutrition and Food Services Department within the ministry’s Public Health Sector. This aims to standardize procedures and apply international best practices in this vital field, while offering specialized nutritional consultations grounded in scientific evidence.

The ministry emphasized that the establishment of these units reflects its commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services, enhancing beneficiary satisfaction, and supporting national efforts to combat chronic diseases and their causes. This will be achieved by promoting healthy nutritional behaviors and raising community awareness about proper nutrition—aligning with the ministry’s vision of a sustainable, healthy future and a more informed, empowered society.
