Kuwait revokes and withdraws citizenship from 464 individuals

The Supreme Committee for the Investigation of Kuwaiti Nationality held a meeting today, Thursday, led by Acting Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahd Yousef Al-Sabah, decided to revoke Kuwaiti nationality from 464 cases, pending Cabinet approval.

The Ministry of Interior announced that the committee decided to revoke Kuwaiti citizenship in 12 dual nationality cases under Article (11) of the Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments.

The committee also decided to withdraw Kuwaiti citizenship certificates from 451 cases involving fraud, false statements (forgery), and those who obtained nationality through dependency, under Article (21 bis A) of the Kuwaiti Citizenship Law No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments.

Additionally, the committee decided to withdraw Kuwaiti citizenship in one case under Article (13), Paragraph (4) of the Kuwaiti Citizenship Law No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments, citing the country’s highest interest.
