British Airways halts London-Kuwait flights indefinitely amid engine woes

British Airways has announced the suspension of all flights between London and Kuwait, effective from the end of March. This decision follows similar moves by Lufthansa and KLM, marking a growing trend among international airlines adjusting their routes.
It was previously reported that British Airways’ decision to suspend flights to Kuwait was primarily due to ongoing issues with the Rolls-Royce engines that power its Boeing 787 Dreamliners. A shortage of spare parts has disrupted flight schedules not only for British Airways but also for other airlines facing similar challenges.
In addition to these technical difficulties, the airline cited economic viability concerns as a factor in its decision. British Airways has already taken similar steps by canceling its direct flights from Heathrow Airport to Beijing and significantly reducing to half its services to Hong Kong.
