KOC extends projects bids submission date to Feb 18

The Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has announced an extension of the bid submission deadline for the Depletion Pressure Systems and Sulfur Recovery Units (SRUs) project, valued at $380 million.

The project aims to install compression systems and SRUs at the Early Production Facility 50 (EPF-50) and the Jurassic Production Facility 3 (JPF-3), reports Al-Qabas daily.

Originally, bidding documents were released on September 17, with a deadline of December 17. However, due to an expansion in the project’s scope, including additional pressure systems, the deadline was delayed and now has been extended until February 18, 2024 to submit their bids.

With the project’s scope expansion, it is expected that its value will exceed the initial estimate of $380 million. The project is planned to be executed using the build-own-operate-transfer (BOT) model, as stated in the tender documents.

The EPF-50 and JPF-3 are sour hydrocarbon processing facilities located in northern Kuwait. They are designed to handle high-pressure sour hydrocarbons extracted from multiple Jurassic wells in the northern Kuwait fields.
The contract scope involves two parts: the installation of new MP compression systems and SRUs at EPF-50 and JPF-3, respectively, as outlined in the original tender documents.
