FAIPS makes unprecedented clean sweep at IIT-IIM Quiz 2025

In a stunning display of intellect, speed, and teamwork, students from FAIPS-DPS won the prestigious IIT-IIM Open Quiz, organized by the Alumni Association of India’s premier institutions— the IITs and IIMs —held at the Indian Embassy on Friday, October 31.

The event was hosted by renowned Indian quizmaster Giri Balasubramanium, popularly known as ‘Pickbrain’, along with his co-host, Ms. Rashmi Furtado.

The competition saw participation from over 100 school teams and 4 Open teams, making it one of the most competitive editions to date.

After the initial school preliminaries, 13 FAIPS teams advanced to the second round. Team The Commission—comprising Krithika Karthikeyan, Agastya Sabarad, and Ponmanikandan — secured the highest score in the Prelims, earning a direct spot in the Finals.

Three other FAIPS teams — The Titans (Alvin, Vishwesh & Atharv Chandrakar), Inquizitives (Athul Sandeep, Aibel Praveen & Parthiv Raj), and In-Quiz-itorial Squad (Aaqil, Jude Joseph & Mayuravan) — fought fiercely in the Pre-Finals, resulting in an unprecedented scenario: four FAIPS teams in the Finals, alongside IES Bhavans and ICSK Khaitan.

From the very first question, FAIPS teams — The Titans, The Commission, and Inquizitives — showcased unmatched speed and precision, often buzzing in before questions were completed. Their dominance was so complete that the Finals felt like an intra-school championship.

Despite the complexity of the questions, FAIPS teams tackled them with impressive confidence and clarity, systematically negating incorrect options.

At times, they were penalized for buzzing in too early and answering incorrectly, but they quickly recovered by answering subsequent questions correctly — regaining the marks they had lost and maintaining their dominance throughout the quiz.

The audience watched in awe, not wondering if FAIPS would win, but which FAIPS team would take the crown.
In a landmark moment in the 10-year history of the IIT-IIM Quiz, FAIPS swept all top three positions:

  • 1st Place – Team Inquizitives – 750 dinars
  • 2nd Place – Team The Titans – 450 dinars
  • 3rd Place – Team The Commission – 300 dinars

This victory is a testament to the school’s commitment to nurturing talent, fostering curiosity, and encouraging a competitive spirit.
