Commerce Ministry shuts down two health institutes, seizes 322 counterfeit items

Kuwait’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry has shut down two health institutes in Salmiya and seized 322 counterfeit clothing, accessories and footwear items in separate enforcement operations targeting commercial violations.

The ministry said its emergency teams in Ahmadi and Mubarak Al-Kabeer governorates, working with the Ministry of Interior’s Criminal Investigation Department in Mubarak Al-Kabeer, closed the two health institutes for violating Ministerial Resolution No. 32 of 2026, which prohibits cash transactions for certain activities. Inspectors also recorded other violations related to the establishments.

In a separate operation, the Capital Governorate Inspection Department seized 322 clothing items, accessories and shoes carrying counterfeit international brand names. The shop was found displaying and selling the goods to consumers as genuine. The seized goods were confiscated and the offending shop was immediately closed. A commercial fraud violation was issued, with legal measures taken against the violators.
