48 ships rerouted as Hormuz traffic sees sharp drop, says CENTCOM

US Central Command (CENTCOM) said Saturday that 48 vessels complied with orders to alter their routes as part of the ongoing blockade imposed on Iran over the past 20 days.
The development comes amid a sharp decline in maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil transit route.
Data indicates that the number of ships crossing the strait has dropped significantly over the past week, falling to just seven vessels per day.
The slowdown highlights escalating tensions in the region and growing concerns over disruptions to international shipping and energy supplies.
