Vacate government housing by Sept 1, PAHW tells East Taima residents

The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has notified owners of government housing units in the East Taima area to vacate their homes by September 1.
The authority sent official notices to 509 housing beneficiaries through the government electronic platform Sahel, informing them that their housing lease agreements had been cancelled.
The notice stated that PAHW had decided to terminate the rental contracts for the government homes allocated in East Taima and instructed residents to vacate by the specified date.
The move comes as part of the implementation of Decree Law No. 83 of 2025, which cancels Article 29 bis of the Housing Welfare Law, commonly known as the ‘He Who Sold His House’ law.
The legislation was approved last year and published in the Official Gazette, paving the way for authorities to end related housing arrangements and begin the evacuation process.
