Traffic campaigns record 28,890 violations, 25 reckless drivers arrested last week
Security and traffic campaigns carried out by the security authorities across Kuwait last week resulted in the issuance of 28,890 traffic citations, led to the arrest of 25 reckless drivers. During the campaign 241 vehicles and two motorcycles were also impounded.
Colonel Fahd Al-Essa, Director of the Traffic Awareness Department, said eight juveniles were also arrested for driving without licenses and were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution. Traffic patrols also dealt with 3,030 reports during the week, including 1,315 road accidents and 182 accidents involving injuries.
The campaigns also resulted in the arrest of 29 people wanted for various security reasons, including those reported absconding, and 35 expatriates for staying in the country after expiry of residence permits. Five people were arrested for failing to carry official IDs.
Authorities also seized 28 vehicles wanted by security or judicial authorities and arrested five people found in an abnormal condition, and were referred to the Directorate General for Drug Control.
Emergency Police patrols carried out security campaigns and deployments across several governorates, resulting in the arrest of 102 wanted persons and 90 people for expired residency and recorded 1,349 traffic violations, and impounded five vehicles and dealt with 107 traffic accidents. Twelve vehicles were seized for serious violations, while patrols provided assistance in 878 cases.
