ICAIKC, KAAA host workshop on transfer pricing and its importance for Kuwait businesses

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Kuwait Chapter (ICAIKC), in collaboration with the Kuwait Accountants and Auditors Association (KAAA), organised a technical workshop on Transfer Pricing at the KAAA Auditorium, bringing together professionals from the accounting, taxation, finance and business community.
The workshop featured CA Vijay Iyer, Partner and National Leader Transfer pricing services, EY India, as the principal speaker, who provided an insightful overview of transfer pricing principles, practical considerations and the evolving international tax environment. The session enabled participants to deepen their understanding of transfer pricing and its relevance to businesses operating across jurisdictions.

The programme commenced with opening remarks by CA Andaleeb Girkar, executive committee member ICAIKC, who welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of continuous professional learning in an increasingly complex regulatory environment. CA Venkata Ramana Badida, Chairperson, ICAI Kuwait Chapter (ICAIKC), set the tone and expectations for the event, emphasising the importance of collaboration among professional institutions in creating meaningful platforms for knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and professional development.

He highlighted the need for professionals to remain abreast of Kuwait’s evolving tax and regulatory landscape, particularly in view of the emerging tax regime. He also underscored the growing significance of transfer pricing for businesses, especially amid increasing global trade complexities, cross-border transactions, related-party dealings, and evolving international taxation requirements.

CA Venkata Ramana Badida also expressed his sincere gratitude to Chairman Mr. Sabah Al Jalawi and the entire team of KAAA, including Ms. Abeer, Dr. Fahad, Talal, and Ms. Hanan, for their valuable support and collaboration in making the knowledge-sharing session possible. A key feature of the programme was the focus on Kuwait specific transfer pricing compliance. CA Ketan Puri and CA Amit Arora addressed the participants on the local regulatory framework and compliance considerations, providing practical insights into the requirements applicable to businesses operating in Kuwait.

The programme also featured an address by Dr. Fahad from KAAA, who welcomed the collaboration and highlighted the importance of initiatives that strengthen professional knowledge and engagement within Kuwait’s accounting and auditing community. The workshop provided an interactive platform for participants to engage with the speakers and discuss practical issues and challenges relating to transfer pricing and compliance.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by CA Deeba Shahab and Ms. Abeer, who expressed appreciation to the speakers, KAAA, participants and all those who contributed to the successful organisation of the programme. The successful workshop reflects the continued commitment of ICAI Kuwait Chapter and KAAA to professional development, knowledge sharing and stronger collaboration within Kuwait’s professional community, particularly in areas of growing importance such as taxation, regulatory compliance and international business.
