Stop all forms of charity donations now, CBK tells banks

As part of its ongoing efforts to establish clear regulatory frameworks and prevent the misuse of donation funds, the Central Bank of Kuwait has instructed all banks to suspend donations to charity organizations, following a directive from the Ministry of Social Affairs.

In a circular issued to banks, the Central Bank ordered a halt to all forms of donation collection, including deposits via money transfer companies, checks, online banking platforms, mobile applications, ATMs, and standing payment orders to charity societies, reports Al-Rai.

This suspension will remain in effect until further notice. Meanwhile, banking transactions related to charity activities will be restricted to domestic disbursements only, and must receive prior approval from the Ministry of Social Affairs.
