Scientific Center celebrates 25 years with launch of ‘World of Science’ exhibit

As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, the Scientific Center has unveiled its latest exhibit, “World of Science,” under the campaign slogan “25 Years and Minds Grow Here.” This new addition marks a significant milestone in the center’s ongoing mission to inspire curiosity and promote scientific understanding across generations.

Designed to provide an immersive and forward-looking scientific experience, World of Science reflects the Center’s longstanding commitment to knowledge-sharing and exploration. It aims to enrich minds and align with future aspirations through interactive and innovative exhibits, reports Al-Rai daily.

Currently in its trial phase, the exhibit is open to a limited number of pre-registered visitors through the Center’s website. This soft launch represents a new chapter in the Scientific Center’s journey of innovation and creativity, further cementing its role as a national hub for science education and community engagement.

The exhibit features cutting-edge displays focused on innovation, energy, engineering, and robotics, along with a dedicated interactive playground for children. These hands-on experiences cater to all age groups, embodying the Center’s vision of making science accessible, engaging, and inspiring—from atomic science to the vastness of the cosmos.

A major highlight of the Center’s future plans includes the upcoming “Power of Play” facility, set to launch in 2025. It is part of the Center’s broader mission to support sustainable development goals by promoting quality education and interactive learning.

Speaking at the event, Engineer Musaed Al Yasin, Director General of the Scientific Center, stated, “Today marks a historic moment as we celebrate 25 years of impact and inspiration. We look ahead to a future filled with innovation, where scientific experiences expand and evolve to captivate visitors of all ages. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to this pioneering journey.”

He added that the trial phase of the World of Science exhibit is just the beginning of many exciting developments in store, all aimed at strengthening intellectual engagement in science across different age groups.

Dunya Al-Daghish, Director of Education and Programs, emphasized on the Center’s role in scientific outreach. “This exhibit, she said, reflects our leadership in fostering a culture of science. Our trained national staff are on hand to guide visitors, aid, and ensure a smooth, enriching experience.”

Meanwhile, Sarah Al-Yaqout, Director of Marketing and Communications, highlighted the public’s enthusiastic response.

“We are thrilled to welcome 200 visitors daily during the trial phase. Once this stage concludes, we will officially announce the full opening on our social media platforms. We remain committed to growing minds and celebrating this incredible journey,” she said.

She also underlined the importance of volunteerism, noting that the Center has operated a volunteer program since 2001, with a strong focus on empowering youth.

With this new chapter, the Scientific Center reaffirms its leading role in science communication and education—celebrating a quarter-century of achievements while embracing a future filled with discovery.
