PAI closes 30 industrial plots in South Amghara over fire safety violations

One-month deadline given to industrial plot owners to rectify violations

The Public Authority for Industry (PAI) has ordered the closure of 30 industrial plots in the South Amghara industrial area after operators failed to obtain the required fire safety licenses.

The decisions were issued as part of a package of regulatory measures published in the latest edition of the official gazette, Kuwait Alyawm.

According to the authority, the affected plots are located in Block 1 of South Amghara and were found to be operating without valid fire safety approvals, a requirement aimed at ensuring the protection of workers, facilities and surrounding properties.

PAI said the closures form part of ongoing efforts to enforce safety standards across Kuwait’s industrial sector and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

The authority granted the owners and operators of the affected plots a one-month grace period from the date of closure to address the violations and obtain the necessary approvals.

PAI stressed that failure to comply within the specified period would result in stricter legal and administrative measures being taken against violators in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.

The authority did not disclose the names of the affected establishments but emphasized that compliance with fire safety requirements remains a key condition for the operation of industrial facilities.
Industrial operators are required to obtain and maintain the necessary licenses and permits, including fire safety approvals, to ensure that facilities meet national safety standards and minimize risks associated with industrial activities.
The latest enforcement action reflects the government’s broader efforts to strengthen regulatory oversight and promote a safer industrial environment across the country.
