Kuwait non-oil exports reach 872.8 million dinars in first four months of 2026

Kuwait recorded non-oil export certificates worth approximately KD 872.8 million during the first four months of 2026, reflecting strong performance from industrial zones and locally manufactured products, according to official data from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Figures issued by the ministry’s International Relations Department showed that a total of 6,552 certificates of origin were issued for Kuwaiti-origin products produced, modified or manufactured within the country’s industrial zones.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries accounted for the largest share in terms of volume, receiving 5,725 certificates, or around 87 percent of the total issued during the period.

In terms of value, exports to GCC markets reached approximately KD 437.2 million, representing nearly half of the total recorded export value.

Europe ranked second in value terms, with exports totaling about KD 369 million, despite receiving only 39 certificates. This reflects a significantly higher average shipment value compared to other regions.

Arab and Islamic countries also maintained steady trade activity, with 755 certificates issued worth approximately KD 44.6 million.

Monthly data showed that April 2026 recorded the highest export value at KD 314.3 million, followed by February at KD 194.2 million, January at KD 192.4 million, and March at KD 171.9 million, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In terms of volume, January led with 1,941 certificates, while March recorded the lowest at 1,129 certificates. Export activity to African and American markets declined notably in March and April, with no shipments recorded to those regions in April.

Officials said certificates of origin are used by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to track and document Kuwaiti-origin goods exported abroad, providing a key indicator of non-oil trade performance.

The most prominent exported goods included polyethylene, liquid gases, organic solvents, processed food products, dairy items, packaging materials such as cardboard boxes, glass containers, medical oxygen, copper bars, and refined mineral oils.

Polyethylene remained the leading export commodity, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of Kuwait’s industrial export base, followed by chemical and energy-related products.

The GCC continued to be the primary destination for Kuwaiti non-oil exports, followed by key Arab markets including Iraq, Jordan and Egypt, highlighting the regional integration of Kuwait’s industrial output.
