Oil sector on high alert, reinforces emergency plans to safeguard operations

. . . amid geopolitical volatility

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Sheikh Dr. Nimer Al-Sabah, has affirmed that the ministry is maintaining close and continuous monitoring of its contingency and precautionary plans, with ongoing updates to ensure alignment with rapidly evolving regional developments.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the ministry said the measures come amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the region, including recent attacks affecting several countries and targeting critical infrastructure.

Al-Sabah stressed that the ministry is operating under an advanced institutional framework built on high readiness and proactive planning, enabling it to respond efficiently to regional and international developments.

He added that this approach ensures operational discipline and strengthens the sector’s ability to manage multiple scenarios without disrupting performance, reports Al-Rai daily.

He further emphasized the importance of enhanced coordination between relevant state entities, aimed at improving operational efficiency, accelerating response mechanisms, and unifying institutional efforts within an integrated system of work.

According to the statement, national personnel remain a cornerstone of the oil sector’s operational structure, with skilled cadres continuing to demonstrate high levels of efficiency and professionalism, supported by accumulated expertise in managing critical files under varying conditions.

The ministry noted that the oil sector continues to operate under the directives of national leadership and under the direct supervision of the Minister of Oil, Tariq Al-Roumi, as part of efforts to maintain stability and safeguard the sector’s performance amid ongoing regional uncertainty.
