This week on Thursday, September 9, The Guest Show’ on Radio Kuwait will present Amani Al Hajji, who is a trailblazer like no other because she dared tread a path that no one in the Gulf had earlier.
Amani is the first female opera singer from the Arabian Gulf. She sings Italian, Russian, German, French, and English with effortless ease. It has not been an easy journey for her. For a girl from a conservative Kuwaiti family to sing on stage, let alone sing opera was unprecedented. But she persisted.
She has sung in front of H H the Amir of Kuwait and represented her country abroad. Here, on The Guest Show, she will share her journey, the challenges, her experience of learning in what is the National Conservatory of Kuwait, her amazing performances in Cairo’s Opera House, and on other international stages.
