Earth Day is an international event celebrated every year on April 22nd around the world to pledge support for environmental protection.

This year Pakistan Women’s Forum, Kuwait demonstrated and showed gratitude towards Mother Earth by developing a beautiful garden with immense support from Dr. Ahmad Al-Shatti, Director of Sabah Area and Dr. Huda Ali Al-Rasheedi.

The activity was held in the nursery, founded by Ahmed Al-Rasheedi (Abu Talal) within the vicinity of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital.

A big area was prepared by Abu Talal’s team for PWF to conduct the activity. Members of the PWF Executive Team, Mrs. Nighat Tariq, Mrs. Romina Sarwar (Advisory), Mrs. Rabiah Burney (Treasurer) and a few members planted trees in the designated area.

After planning out the layout of the garden, PWF Team decided to plant evergreen trees and a variety of roses. Evergreen plants and ceramic tiles surrounded the boundary of the garden, creating a scenic effect. At the end, they had a tour of the nursery by the founder.

Supervised by Mrs. Nighat Tariq (Vice President -PWF) on behalf of Ms. Hina Saleem (President-PWF), the event was attended by Sheikha Basmah Al-Sabah, Sheikha Aneesa Al-Sabah, Dr. Amaal Al-Yahia (Head of Healthy Cities office), Hessa Al-Balool (Head of Down Association), and Dr. Sarah Al-Duwaisan.

PWF Team extends their sincere appreciation to all those who attended and especially acknowledges the encouragement and support from Dr. Ahmad Al-Rasheedi and Dr. Huda Al-Rasheedi throughout the event.
