Students of India International School Mangaf (IISM) have created a unique model of the iconic Kuwait Towers using discarded pens. The aim of this creative idea was to raise awareness and educate the younger generation on the need to safeguard our environment. The project highlighted the importance of reducing, reusing, recycling materials that are usually discarded, and which end up in landfills and waste dumps polluting the environment.

The students’ idea was concretized with the able leadership of art teacher Ramachandran, under the guidance of the School Director Malayil Moosa Koya, Principal Indulekha and the Vice Principal  Saleem. The structure, which measures 9.4 meter high, was shaped around a wooden frame on the inside and covered by used pens on the outside.

Following days and months of relentless efforts that stretched over a period of six months, the final structure was unveiled on 24 February of this year to coincide with the National and Liberation Days of Kuwait. The remarkable model will be displayed in the school campus as a token of love and gratitude to Kuwait, our foster country, said the students enthusiastically when asked about their project.

The creation of the model Kuwait Towers also marks the school’s successful completion of two decades. School Sponsor Aws Al Shaheen, Fahaheel Police Chief  Abdulla Yusuf Al Juma, PACE Group Managing Director P.A. Salman Ibrahim also attended the function as chief guests.
