Kuwait to host Olympic Council of Asia headquarters for next five years
Dr. Thani Al-Kuwari, the second Vice President of the Qatari Council, expressed his gratitude to His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince, and the government for their support of the Asian sports movement.

The Olympic Council of Asia praised Kuwait’s support for the Asian Olympic Movement, highlighting the country’s renewal of its agreement to host the council’s headquarters for the next five years, with automatic renewal. This agreement will continue to foster the technical and organizational development of Olympic sports across the continent, according to Al Rai newspaper.
Dr. Thani Al-Kuwari, the second Vice President of the Qatari Council, stated in a press release following the signing of the agreement, attended by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, First Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia Timothy Fok, and Council Director Hussein Al-Muslim, that this step will have a significant positive impact on the Asian Olympic movement.
Al-Kuwari thanked His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the Kuwaiti government for their ongoing support of the Asian sports movement, which has maintained the headquarters in Kuwait since 1982.
On Tuesday, Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya met with the Asian Olympic Council delegation at the Ministry’s General Office, where they discussed efforts to promote Asian and international sports, as well as Kuwait’s support for the Asian Olympic Council and the broader Asian sports movement.
The Foreign Ministry stated in a statement that the meeting was followed by the signing of the headquarters agreement between the Government of Kuwait and the Olympic Council of Asia.
