Kuwait strengthens pledge to climate action and clean energy partnership

Kuwait Ambassador to China H.E. Jassim Al-Najem affirmed on Thursday Kuwait’s commitment to supporting international cooperation to address climate change challenges and promote the transition toward clean energy.
His remarks came during the Green and Sustainable Development Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, held in the Chinese city of Ningbo.
Al-Najem stressed Kuwait’s keenness to accelerate the transition toward clean energy and deepen international cooperation in sustainable energy fields, noting that Kuwait Vision 2035 represents the national framework for economic and energy transformation.
He added that the vision aims to diversify income sources and expand investment in renewable energy sectors, reaffirming Kuwait’s pursuit of strengthening partnerships with China and friendly countries to build a more sustainable, secure and prosperous future.
The forum, held under the theme of implementing the Global Governance Initiative and promoting green development and sustainability, runs over two days with participation of more than 300 officials from around the world.
