Kuwait removes 384 abandoned vehicles, issues 427 citations in clean-up drive

Kuwait Municipality has intensified its efforts to combat visual pollution and improve public cleanliness, removing 384 abandoned vehicles and issuing 427 violations during extensive inspection campaigns carried out across the country.

According to municipal officials, the operations targeted abandoned and scrap vehicles, road occupancy violations, street vendors, and breaches of public cleanliness regulations. The campaigns form part of the municipality’s ongoing strategy to maintain urban standards and ensure compliance with municipal laws.

Inspection teams also placed thousands of warning stickers and notices on abandoned vehicles, boats, commercial containers, and other unauthorized structures before taking enforcement action. Authorities said vehicle owners were given the opportunity to remove their vehicles before they were seized and transported from public areas.

Municipal officials stressed that abandoned vehicles not only create visual pollution but can also pose environmental and public safety concerns. The campaigns are aimed at keeping roads, residential neighborhoods, and commercial districts free from obstructions while improving the overall appearance of public spaces.

The municipality warned that inspection drives will continue across all governorates with no tolerance for violations. Officials emphasized that legal measures will be taken against individuals and businesses that fail to comply with cleanliness and road occupancy regulations.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to enhancing Kuwait’s urban environment through continuous monitoring, enforcement, and cooperation with relevant government agencies.
