Kuwait Oil Company revises timelines for major project bids

The company has extended bidding deadlines for several major projects, including the strategic SGC-2 separation and assembly center in Kuwait’s Eastern Province (EK-2).

The project, valued at $670.2 million, aims to remove oil bottlenecks, with bid submissions extended to March 18. The $200 million WIP-4 installation in southern Kuwait also shares the same deadline.

The third major deadline extended by KOC is for the Facilities Master Plan Services Contract, covering facilities across Kuwait’s northern, southern, eastern, and western regions.

The Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has extended bidding deadlines for several major projects, including the strategic SGC-2 separation and assembly center in Kuwait’s Eastern Province (EK-2), Al Qabas newspaper reported.

MED magazine reported that the project scope includes removing oil bottlenecks, with an estimated value of 207 million dinars ($670.2 million). The deadline for bid submissions has been extended to March 18.

The second bidding deadline applies to a $200 million contract for the installation of the 4th Water Injection Plant (WIP-4) in southern Kuwait, with bid submissions also extended to March 18.

The project includes constructing the WIP-4 water injection station, installing safety and security systems, laying pipelines, setting up oil collection systems, building new well platforms, and developing associated facilities. When the project was first announced in August last year, nine companies qualified to bid.

The third major deadline extended by KOC is for the Facilities Master Plan Services Contract, covering facilities across Kuwait’s northern, southern, eastern, and western regions.

The Central Agency for Public Tenders announced that the new bidding deadline is April 6, replacing the previous deadline of February 9.

Consulting contract

Meanwhile, KOC has issued a consulting contract for the implementation of the LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) program across all its operations.

A pre-tender meeting is scheduled for March 2, with the bid submission deadline set for May 12, and the deadline for contract-related inquiries on March 9, 2025.

MED reported that companies wishing to participate must meet the specified criteria and be registered on KPC’s unified business portal.

The launch of this consulting contract, focusing on upstream operations, follows several fires in Kuwait’s oil and gas facilities in recent years.
