Kuwaiti non-oil exports reached approximately 1.04 billion dinars during the first half of 2026, underscoring the growing reach of national products across regional and international markets.
Official figures from the International Relations Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry showed that 9,768 certificates of origin were issued for Kuwaiti non-oil products destined for markets around the world during the first six months of the year.
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets accounted for the largest share, with 8,523 certificates issued and exports valued at approximately 563.1 million dinars. The figures highlight the central role of Gulf markets in absorbing Kuwaiti non-oil products.
European markets ranked second by export value, despite receiving far fewer certificates. A total of 45 certificates of origin were issued for European destinations, representing exports worth approximately 440.9 million dinars.
Arab and Islamic countries ranked third by the number of certificates, with 1,164 certificates issued during the first half of the year. The value of exports to these markets reached approximately 57.5 million dinars.
Kuwaiti exports to the Americas covered 16 certificates worth around 547,200 dinars, while 15 certificates were issued for Asian countries and Australia, representing approximately 1.2 million dinars in exports.
Exports to Africa totaled five certificates during January and February, valued at approximately 20.2 million dinars. Exports to the continent then stopped from the beginning of March through the end of June due to the war and the subsequent closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
The distribution of certificates reflects the broad geographical reach of Kuwait’s non-oil products, extending from GCC, Arab and Islamic markets to Europe and Africa, as well as Asia, Australia and the Americas.
Kuwaiti factories are also supplying a diverse range of products to international markets. These include liquid gases, food products, polyethylene, organic solvents, empty cardboard boxes, white solvent, refined oils, mineral oil liquids, medical oxygen, dairy products, empty glass bottles and copper rods.
The figures underline the breadth of Kuwait’s non-oil export base, with national products reaching multiple international markets and the GCC maintaining its position as the largest destination by both the number of certificates issued and overall export value.
