Meteorologist Issa Ramadan forecast continued humid conditions across Kuwait, with humidity expected to increase during the evening, overnight and early-morning hours, particularly in coastal areas and nearby suburbs. Humidity levels are expected to ease during the daytime.
Ramadan said the humid weather would continue on Friday and throughout the weekend. Temperatures are expected to become slightly lower on Saturday before rising again from Sunday evening and continuing into Monday, particularly in areas near the sea and beaches.
Ramadan said the gradual decline in temperatures has already begun, coinciding with changing weather patterns and the approach of the autumn climatic season after September 6.
However, he stressed that the cooling trend will be gradual and limited at this stage rather than bringing a sudden change in temperatures.
He noted that the coolest periods will generally occur around dawn, early morning and late at night, when residents may experience a slight break from the heat along with relatively milder conditions and gentler breezes. He said the change should be viewed as a gradual transition rather than an abrupt shift in the weather.
Ramadan explained that Kuwait typically experiences several humid days following the beginning of the Suhail season and the transition toward autumn. He urged residents to be patient through the remaining summer period, noting that weather conditions are expected to improve progressively.
Some scattered clouds may also appear at times during September, accompanied by periods of elevated humidity. He added that mid-September marks the beginning of the Saffari season, traditionally associated with an increase in seasonal health complaints such as allergies and conjunctivitis, as well as stomach discomfort, due to fluctuations in weather and the temperature gap between daytime and nighttime.
The coastal belt from Kuwait Bay in the north through Al-Subbiya and south toward Al-Nuwaiseeb is expected to experience the highest humidity levels. Humidity could also extend to some residential suburbs and inland areas, particularly during the morning.
Beachgoers and chalet visitors are likely to notice the humid conditions more strongly over the weekend. For Thursday, Ramadan forecast winds to be variable before shifting toward light southeasterly winds. Land and sea breezes carrying humid air are expected during the afternoon and evening.
He also warned of the possibility of reduced horizontal visibility at night as light fog, known locally as “Mars,” develops in some areas.
