Kuwait EPA restricts picnics and fishing inside bay as precautionary measure
Activities allowed only outside designated areas as authorities maintain safety controls

The Environment Public Authority has confirmed that picnics and fishing are currently prohibited within the bay area, with activities restricted to designated zones outside the bay, in accordance with approved timings and conditions.
The authority said the decision aligns with directives from the Ministry of Interior, stressing that access to the Al-Joun bay area remains suspended as a precautionary measure in light of the current situation.
It added that the issuance of special permits for picnics and fishing inside the bay continues to be suspended until further notice, calling on the public to fully comply with official instructions and use only permitted areas.
Earlier, the General Directorate of Coast Guard announced that fishing and leisure boats are allowed to sail daily from 6 am to 6 pm.
Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Ali Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, Director General of the Coast Guard, said the decision was taken after assessing the current situation, with the aim of balancing recreational activity with maritime safety and security.
He stressed that seafarers must adhere strictly to approved navigation routes and avoid approaching oil installations and other sensitive sites, in order to ensure maritime safety and protect public security.
