Health Minister approves new prices for 146 medicines and supplements

The Health Minister approved updated prices for 146 medicines, pharmaceutical preparations, and supplements in the private sector, based on recommendations from the Drug Pricing Committee.

Kuwait’s Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, has approved new pricing for 146 medicines, pharmaceutical preparations, and nutritional supplements in the private health sector, following recommendations from the Medicines Pricing Committee.

The Ministerial Resolutions No. 45 and 46 of 2025, reaffirm the Ministry’s commitment to reviewing drug prices, enhancing the healthcare system, controlling treatment costs, and easing financial burdens on patients. This aligns with the Ministry’s vision of ensuring access to high-quality and effective pharmaceutical preparations and nutritional supplements.

The two decisions mandate that the new pricing takes effect immediately upon publication in the Official Gazette, incorporating the listed medicines and preparations into Ministerial Resolution No. 74 of 2023. This move aims to ensure alignment in pharmaceutical policies and enhance market stability in Kuwait.

The Ministry of Health affirmed that the Drug Pricing Committee remains committed to reviewing and approving prices based on thorough scientific and economic criteria. This approach aims to balance quality and cost while enhancing the pharmaceutical sector’s economic efficiency, aligning with the Ministry’s vision of developing the health system in line with international standards.
