Farewell to XII graders of 2023-24 at UIS
The farewell ceremony for Grade 12 students of the academic year 2023-2024 was held on February 3, 2024, at the UIS campus. The program commenced at 11 am with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Miss Naswiha Noushad and its translation by Master Hadi Parker, followed by the Kuwait National Anthem.
The blessings of the Almighty were sought through the prayer by Mrs. Jeo K. Mathew, faculty of Physics. Mrs. Beena Thomas, HOD of social Science delivered the welcome speech.
The keynote address by Mr. Radhakrishnan C, Senior Principal UIS, had taken the students back to their first day in UIS. He elevated the thoughts of the audience with his golden words. His message enabled the students to gather the courage to face the challenges in life. He had given the students guidelines for the CBSE examination and wished them all the best.
Master Jeril Philly Koshy of class 12 B shared his memorable moments and experiences in UIS and thanked the school for the guidance and values that they have received from the school.
In his blessings message, Mr. Joseph Mathew, former Principal of Primary Wing, UIS boosted the confidence level of the students through an astounding motivational story.
‘Lighting the Lamp’ and ‘Passing the Torch’ ceremony was led by Mrs. Mary Litty, Vice Principal, UIS. The solemn ceremony of “Passing the Torch” raised the entire gathering to a blissful experience. The light from the traditional lamp was passed on to the students by the principals and the teachers, to symbolize the enlightenment that the school has passed on to them. In her message she urged the students to carry the Light that they have received from Divine through their teachers to face the challenges of the world and leave an indelible mark on the society.
The prestigious Nalanda Scholarships for academic excellence were awarded to Aadith Eranezhathu Rishi, Naswiha Nowshad, Diya Ann Varghese, Sandra Suresh, Debby Stephen John, Jevin Jose Cheriachery and Shreya Sajeev.
Miss Marvel Jerald and Miss Shreya Sharma were chosen and awarded the Most Outstanding Outgoing Students of Science and Commerce Streams respectively of Grade XII 2023-24.
Master Gautham Mohandas Poolakkal was adjudged and awarded as the Most Outstanding Outgoing Sportsman of Grade XII 2023-2024.
Master Gautham Mohandas Poolakkal was presented with a memento as a token of appreciation for discharging his duty as School Captain of the year 2023-2024.
Miss Helen Sara Ealias was presented with a memento as a token of appreciation for discharging her duty as School Vice-Captain of the year 2023-2024.
Master Gautham Mohandas, School Captain offered the Vote of Thanks. After the delectable lunch, the students were presented with a beautiful souvenir and the function concluded at 2.00 pm.
