Education Ministry prepares to launch unified teacher recruitment campaign for 2025/2026

Priority will be given to Kuwaitis followed by children of Kuwaiti women, ‘bedoun’ (stateless individuals), GCC nationals and finally other expatriates.

The Ministry of Education has completed all preparations for its 2025/2026 teacher recruitment campaign, with the official announcement to be published on its website soon, following the removal of last year’s listing.

According to sources, the ministry has finalized the assessment of school staffing needs across various specializations, submitted the findings to the Undersecretary, and forwarded them to the Educational Selection Monitoring Office within the Administrative Affairs Sector, according to Al-Jarida daily.

The new announcement will unify applications for both Kuwaiti and non-Kuwaiti teachers, giving priority to Kuwaiti applicants. Remaining vacancies will be filled in order of preference — children of Kuwaiti women, “bedoun” (stateless individuals), GCC nationals, and finally other expatriates.

The number of teaching positions slightly exceeds 700, covering a range of fields. While similar to last year’s, this year’s posting includes new specializations recommended by the Technical Directorate to address shortages.

Additionally, the ministry plans to open around 10 new schools in the next academic year across Al-Mutla’a, West and South Abdullah Al-Mubarak, Sabah Al-Ahmad, and Wafra. Five to six of these schools are expected to open in the first semester, with the rest potentially delayed until the second semester, based on the readiness of school facilities.
