Kuwait Customs foil 1.25kg drug shipment from Pakistan hidden inside paintings

Kuwait Customs, in cooperation with the General Department for Narcotics Control, has foiled an attempt to smuggle approximately 1.25 kilograms of narcotics concealed inside paintings in an air cargo shipment arriving from Pakistan.
The Customs Investigation and Search Department said officers became suspicious of the shipment and subjected it to a detailed inspection.
The search uncovered approximately 1 kilogram of heroin hidden inside three paintings. A fourth painting was found to contain around 250 grams of a crystalline substance suspected to be crystal methamphetamine, also known as shabu.
An Asian suspect has been taken into custody. The suspect, along with the seized narcotics and other items, was referred to the relevant authorities for legal action.
