Ethiopian Ambassador Visits The Times Kuwait
H.E. Dr. Sied Muhumed Jibril, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the State of Kuwait, visited the offices of The Times Kuwait, where he met with Editor-in-Chief Tareq Yousef Al-Shumaimry and Marketing Director Wilson D’Cunha.
The meeting provided an opportunity for a cordial and wide-ranging exchange of views on Kuwait–Ethiopia relations, areas of mutual interest and developments of regional importance.
Discussions focused on the growing engagement between Kuwait and Ethiopia and the potential to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across different sectors. Both sides noted the importance of closer interaction between the two countries and greater awareness of the opportunities that exist for cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, aviation, culture and people-to-people relations.
The ambassador also shared perspectives on Ethiopia’s economic and development priorities and the opportunities the country offers to Kuwaiti investors and businesses. Ethiopia has increasingly sought to position itself as an attractive partner for Gulf countries, particularly in areas such as investment, agriculture and food security.
The discussion also touched on the importance of connectivity between the two countries. Ethiopia and Kuwait have been exploring ways to deepen cooperation in civil aviation and air transport, including technical and operational cooperation.
Regional developments and issues of common concern were also discussed, with the ambassador and the Times Kuwait representatives exchanging views on the evolving situation in the region and the importance of dialogue, cooperation and stability.
Al-Shumaimry welcomed Ambassador Jibril to The Times Kuwait and stressed the importance of continued engagement with the diplomatic community in Kuwait. He noted that such interactions help promote greater understanding of the bilateral relationships that connect Kuwait with countries across Africa and the wider international community.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing their appreciation for the exchange and their interest in maintaining communication and exploring opportunities for greater cooperation in the future.
Ambassador Jibril has previously engaged with The Times Kuwait on Ethiopia’s role in Africa, its economic potential and opportunities for Kuwaiti investors, underscoring the growing scope of interest between the two countries.
