Shocking revelation in Kabd double murder case, suspect says he targeted Jordanian man and son

A shocking new development has emerged in the investigation into the killing of two Asian expatriates in Kuwait’s Kabd area, with the Egyptian suspect reportedly telling investigators that the victims were not his intended targets.
According to security sources, the suspect allegedly planned to kill a Jordanian man in his 50s and his son, whom he blamed for insulting him and contributing to his dismissal from a company about a year ago.
Investigators said the suspect allegedly harbored a grudge against the two men and planned the attack as an act of revenge.
Victims allegedly killed after room swap
The suspect reportedly told investigators that he purchased a knife from a grocery store in the Abu Halifa area several hours before the incident.
He then went to a workers’ accommodation where he had previously lived, believing the Jordanian man and his son were still staying in a particular room. However, the room had apparently changed occupants.
The suspect allegedly entered the room and, in the darkness, attacked a man he believed was one of his intended targets. He later realised the victim was an Indian national born in 1992.
When an Iranian national born in 1957 woke up and attempted to call for help, the suspect allegedly attacked him before fleeing the scene. The suspect reportedly told investigators that he had no previous relationship or dispute with either victim and claimed their deaths were unintended.
Weapon recovered, suspect reenacts crime
As part of the investigation, the suspect was taken to the crime scene to reenact the incident. The knife allegedly used in the attack was recovered from the room and added to the case file. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the attack, while the final legal classification and responsibility will be determined by the competent judicial authorities.
The suspect also reportedly admitted to using narcotic pills and said he was under their influence at the time of the incident. A separate drug-use charge may be pursued depending on the outcome of the investigation.
Suspect arrested while allegedly trying to flee
Following the killings, the suspect allegedly attempted to leave the country, heading towards the Al-Ratqa area and trying to climb the border fence.
Border security personnel reportedly intercepted and arrested him before handing him over to the Criminal Investigation Department.The suspect has since been referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the alleged motive, sequence of events and circumstances surrounding the attack.
