‘Civil Service Bureau’ exempts 2024 fingerprint delays, reinstates in 2025

The Civil Service Bureau is taking steps to cancel the delay periods for verifying the presence of fingerprints for employees in government agencies. This change will apply from the date of implementation until the end of last year, and the delays will no longer be included in the annual evaluations of employees.

Sources informed “Al-Rai” that the Civil Service Bureau has removed the column for calculating delay periods recorded for employees from the systems of entities linked to its integrated systems. This decision was made after considering the delay period as part of a trial process, ensuring that it does not impact the annual evaluation of employees. The move comes in light of the lack of control over the mechanism for verifying employees’ fingerprint presence.

The sources stated that the exemption from calculating the delay period for fingerprint presence, will apply only to the period from the start of its implementation until the end of last year. Beginning this year, the delay period will be reactivated, and any delays will be calculated accordingly.

Moreover, the source explained that many government employees experienced delays in properly implementing the fingerprint presence mechanism, with some frequently forgetting to record their fingerprint, particularly during the initial days of its implementation. This was mainly due to their unfamiliarity with the new system.
