BSK and TSK welcome students back for the 2026-2027 academic year
A new year of learning, growth and new beginnings

A new school year represents more than a return to the classroom. For some students, it marks the move into a new class or phase, while for others, it begins an entirely new educational experience. For everyone, it is another year of learning, development, new experiences and lasting memories.
This was the spirit in which the 2026-2027 academic year began at The British School of Kuwait (BSK) and The Sunshine Kindergarten (TSK), as classrooms, corridors and outdoor spaces came back to life. Students returned to the familiar rhythm of school routines, supported by comprehensive preparations and carefully organised arrangements covering every aspect of their return.
From the first day, both the school and kindergarten were fully prepared to welcome students. Academic and administrative teams were on hand to greet and guide students to their classrooms, while arrivals moved smoothly through designated entrances for each phase. The return was supported by comprehensive security and safety measures, as well as carefully managed traffic arrangements to ensure a smooth arrival and departure experience for families.
For returning students, the beginning of the academic year was an opportunity to reunite with friends and teachers and settle back into familiar routines. For students new to BSK, however, it marked the beginning of their journey in a new educational environment. They began becoming familiar with their classrooms, teachers and classmates, with teachers supporting them as they settled in, built confidence and became part of school life at BSK.
At The Sunshine Kindergarten, the return brought a particular sense of excitement, especially for children experiencing an educational setting beyond their homes for the first time. Teachers supported them through these first steps, gradually helping them become familiar with their teachers, classrooms and daily routines. Alongside this process was the natural curiosity that comes with discovering new places and meeting new people. Children were given space to play, explore and learn in an environment suited to their individual needs.
At BSK, activity quickly returned to the corridors, outdoor spaces and classrooms. Students began settling into their timetables and daily routines, while teachers introduced them to the year ahead and established the foundations for a well-organised academic start.
The return to school was supported by comprehensive arrangements covering all aspects of the school day, from traffic management and arrivals through designated entrances to welcoming and guiding students throughout the school and kindergarten. Dedicated teams worked to ensure these processes operated smoothly while maintaining a safe and organised environment, enabling students to focus on their school day from the moment they arrived.
Parents also played an important role in the back-to-school experience, whether accompanying their children as they took their first steps into kindergarten or school, or proudly watching their sons and daughters move into a new class or phase. Photographs captured these opening moments of another year in their children’s educational journey before the routines of everyday school life gradually replaced the uncertainty of new beginnings with familiarity and new memories.
With the academic year now underway, BSK and TSK have begun another year-long journey that extends beyond academic achievement. It includes developing skills, building character, and strengthening confidence and independence, within an educational environment that places students’ safety, well-being and growth at the heart of their school experience.
