Trump accuses Iran of misrepresenting terms of prospective agreement

US President Donald Trump said Friday that information allegedly leaked by Iran to media outlets regarding the terms of a potential agreement with Washington was “misleading and inaccurate,” accusing Tehran of lacking good faith in its dealings.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the provisions circulated by Iran “have absolutely nothing to do with what was agreed to in writing.” He added that statements issued by Iranian officials, including what he described as a “weak and pathetic” announcement regarding an agreement, did not reflect reality.

The US president also condemned what he described as an Iranian drone attack targeting Indian vessels departing the Strait of Hormuz, calling the incident “unacceptable.” “It would be better for the Iranians to get their affairs in order, and quickly,” he added.

Trump’s remarks came a day after he announced the cancellation of planned military strikes against Iran, saying that an agreement had been reached without providing details about its nature or contents.
